Overview
Designing the experience and the design system for BNY's enterprise AI platform
BNY safeguards $55.8 trillion in assets, and its relationship managers, operations leaders, and executives work across offices, client sites, and airports. The intelligence they needed to do that work well sat in separate systems, so preparing for a single client meeting meant moving between tools and piecing the picture together by hand.
Eliza is BNY's internal AI platform. The opportunity was to make it the place that work begins: a mobile-first experience that brings client relationships, portfolios, meeting preparation, and compliance into one view, and anticipates what a banker needs before they go looking for it.
Fantasy partnered with BNY to design that future vision and then to build the design system behind it. We mapped four distinct mindsets for how bankers use AI on the move, and the engagement grew into a coded, AI-native design system that changed how BNY's own design team ships.

The design system
Built as code, so BNY's designers ship from their IDE
The vision is what travels in a presentation. The design system is what let BNY build on it. Fantasy delivered an AI-native design system with a three-layer token architecture, dark and light themes, and a library of more than 60 production-ready components, documented for AI code generation rather than for a static handoff.
Around it, we built a git-native way of working, with instruction files that encode the design system's knowledge for AI coding tools. BNY's design team moved into their development environment and now ship production code directly. Angular is the implementation; the shift is that design and engineering share one source of truth.

The Impact
Recognition inside the bank and beyond
OpenAI featured Eliza in its own customer story, "BNY builds AI for everyone, everywhere," a measure of how central the platform has become to the bank's AI strategy. The vision work was also named a finalist for a Financial Communications Society award in Visual Identity and drew coverage in Fortune. Inside BNY, the clearest proof is adoption: the engineering team builds on Fantasy's design system, and the design team now works IDE-native on the foundation we delivered.
